FYI this is now live on the UK website. Absolutely astonished at how terrible ‘value’ it appears to be. Having seen it in the flesh, you appear to be paying tens of thousands of pounds worth of a premium over a First Edition for ceramic controls and some different interiors and veneers. Everything is a cost option unlike the old SV products so I struggle to see how many will go for this (particularly in a short wheelbase format). RSE is a £4k cost option!

Just got a P530 LWB to £207k - insane.

If I spec one similar to the AB I have ordered it costs £26K more.

That's £26k for a bunch of cosmetic stuff inside and out (none of which I like compared to the non SV cars)
The only thing I like are the wheels and they are over £3k extra!

This is clearly only for people who really don't care what they spend. Anyone else would find it hard to justify the premium for very little.

Yes; absolutely crazy! The white ceramic was also pretty vulgar when I saw it. The ‘Intrepid’ theme was lovely but not worth the premium IMO. No exclusive engines/power outputs like in the previous SV iteration either. Maybe this isn’t the ‘full monty’?

I assume they will bring another model out later in the life cycle with a power upgrade and some other changes to the styling. The RRS SVR when it comes out must have 600hp+ otherwise it wouldn't be able to compete with the other manufacturers.

I'm waiting for an electric version, I know could be a long wait. Love the intrepid theme though...

Completely agree - the SV is a big price jump for what amounts to a trim level.

Mind you arguably that has worked for BMW with the M Sport trim!

I ran a 405 SV AB for a couple of years which appealed for two reasons - the ‘you get everything’ spec and the engine improvement. I also felt (perhaps clever marketing) that SVO were involved in every SV AB and certainly the engine felt better optimised for the car than the regular 5.0 v8 AB I have now.

Feels like the 322 was actually used by people with farms and horses. The 405 was marketed on that lifestyle (think of the accessories videos with horse boxes and such). The video for the new one is helicopters and beautiful people!

Difference is that M Sport trim is a few grand extra which you get back at resale. SV is a 20% plus premium (over a fully loaded AB) of which I would very much doubt that you will see any back at all.

It’s the same engine block but a lot of the internals are different. L460 uses the N63 engine rather than the M division S63 engine.

Indeed. A proper M engine is a very different beast. My S55 is just relentless, a totally different experience than the N55. The N is nice until you try an S version.
