I can do , but I have the 12 month warranty and an extended warranty with Grange, the last thing I want is that I have broken the warranty agreement. I also paid for an annual service agreement. They get you all ways.

Offered £36k for car - bought for 3 months ago for £45k so the dealers can do one. Will do more mileage to avoid the problem .

Dont worry about it, buy a vacuum pump and do the oil changes yourself when it tells you. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

For the numpties - ie folk like me - how do you do an oil change using a vacuum pump?

I've seen this in the wiki: https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic43994.html

... but "pump" suggests I don't have to crawl under the FF. What do I put here then?

Basically you pump the oil out using a hand powered vacuum pump.
All done from on top of engine so no crawling on the floor like a baby Rolling with laughter
Have a look here (L322 4.4 TDV8) but same in an L405:

I looked but could only find ones where the oil is drained, @Stan.

Am I being daft - always possible?

And thank you, @DrRob. What do I put here then?

Looks so easy, even I can do it. Rolling with laughter

Where on the engine do you "plug" the pump in? What do I put here then?

Don’t throw the box away until you’ve used it a couple of times, my first one failed half way through the job but Amazon replaced it.

Once you have done it once you will never crawl under the car again to drain the oil.

Looking at the LR guidelines it states that the salesperson should ask the customer the type of mileage they will undertake before deciding what different fuel type car to buy. In the financial sector if options were not recorded there would be a successful claim for miss selling. I was not advised of the issue of oil dilution and short journeys , strange how LR can get away with it. Also they keep claiming it is not mechanical problem but blaming your driving journeys. Another way of passing the buck.

I’m not a tools man anymore (age) so I bought the oil and just took it to a local garage and they changed the oil for twenty quid. I didn’t bother with filter. Geoff
