2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Sold a 17 plate Sport 5.0 and bought this beaut from a forum member to replace it.

So far so good, it has been well looked after so the list of things to attend to is quite short: gearbox oil change booked, need a new key for the locking wheel nuts, a small scrape on the front arch and the start of rust inside the rear arches but nothing to worry about. LED reversing bulbs fitted today so there's now half a chance of seeding where we are reversing Very Happy

Already benefitting from being on here so thanks to all who contribute

Hello all, long time land rover owner - just joined up here today - I have a 12/62 Westminster that I've had from an Ex-Demo and an 03/53 Plate V8 Disco in Monte Carlo Blue that I've had for about 10 years

Glad to be here

I’m in the process of buying a 2011 4.4 tdv8 FFRR. I’ve never been into Range Rovers in the past but suddenly got a real thing for them, so got to scratch that itch…

My wife has always liked them, and while it is an emotional purchase rather than one driven by need it could well turn into tge go to car for daily use.

I’ve won a no-reserve auction on eBay for a 4.4tdv8, 130k miles. FSH (13 services) and 2 owners. It has a known issue (“boost control valve solenoid B”) which causes it to go into limp mode under hard acceleration.

I’ve not phased by the issue stated as it is priced accordingly and from the excellent information on the forum. I understand could be a range of issues from cheap (replace hoses) to expensive (replace the secondary turbo actuator).

I’m very excited about the imminent arrival, but also need to make sure that I get the inspection of the car spot on when I go to get it (I can walk away despite winning the auction if I don’t like the car).

I’m pretty competent when it comes to DIY car fixes / maintenance, but have never worked on a LR. I feel reasonably competent to determine if it’s a reasonable car, but I realise there’s a lot of potentially (very) expensive things that can fail on a FFRR, which is why I’m looking for a little more car specific knowledge.

I can’t wait to get more involved in the forum and community.

Thanks,
David

There's a buyers guide in the Wiki, have a read as it gives a lot of info.

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post189410.html#189410

The info section of the Wiki also gives a lot as do the other items on the 4.4.

Service history and condition is more important than mileage.

Come back with questions after a read and there'll be plenty oof advice from those more knowledgeable.

You may have to start a new thread for the questions though, this one is really for intros.

HTH Cheers
Richard

Took the plunge and scratched the RRL322 itch in September - no regrets so far, and it was better value than a D4! Picked up some useful information from the forum so thought I would do the decent thing and join.

Best mpg seen so far was 41.2 having just filled the tank (ouch) and a steady 60mph in roadworks on the M1, but mostly 25-30 so far over 2500 miles or so

New to this L322 lark, had plenty of defenders but looking forward to the quirks of RR ownership

Introduction

Good morning all,

We currently have a l405 autobiography in the family, however, I am now looking at purchasing a second car for me personally, and I’m now looking at L322’s.

I think we can agree it is a stunning Range Rover model so I’m now on the lookout for the correct spec/history model!

Thanks,
James
