Strange starting issue and limp mode under heavy acceleratio

2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue 86k miles
When pressing engine start button the engine turns over for a long time but does not fire then times out. Pressing button again the engines turns over for some time then eventually fires and sounds a little rough for a minute, a bit like a misfire that fades away. All is ok after that unless I use heavy acceleration when the engine management kicks in and I get the Reduced Performance message and the vehicle eventually can only maintain approx 10mph in any gear.

I'm thinking this sounds very like a fuel pump issue but which one if at all?

Ideas on an Xmas card please, or a postcard !!

Simple things first, has it ever had a fuel filter changed?
Any codes?

I have only owned this for 3 months and have no info on if fuel filters have ever been changed.

I do not have any scanning capability to access any error codes (mmm, I spy a self Xmas present coming!)

I'd be taking it to a decent LR independent specialist for diagnosis. Avoid main dealers. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I keep a record on Google Maps when I hear good reviews.
Here you go:
East Kent Automotive Ltd.
Landmark Land Rover
Discovery Garage
AHL Engineering.

Only in order of distance from Dover. No prior personal experience of any of them. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

So to revisit this I have now worked out this only happens when I get very low on fuel then lasts for a few days after I fill up, slowly returning to normal. Anyone got any clues on what this indicates? 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini Black with black interior and glass

You need to get this checked by a specialist or get a GAP IID and read the codes. Anything else is a shot in the dark 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
