wow, haven't been here for a while, this subject surely cuts deep with some peeps. Most of you forgot how exciting F1 was in the 70ies and 80ies. you can see it here :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii6H0MktrOg

That was real racing in dangerous cars, without FIA nannys and whining spoiled brats.

This 21 championship was not lost or won in the last lap, but took two great competitors in battle during 22 races and made a great season. TBH Ham showed better sportsmanship after the race as most of his fans. Imho he lost this race because of poor defending, older tyres, wrong strategy. If he had defended his first place like Perez did he would have been the winner.

Wolf and Merc have shown their unsporting attitude by taking a QC with them to a sporting event, to begin with. I can only hope that next year will bring more teams on top level.

Wow an admission of guilt, FIA have opened the door for Mercedes not to just appeal but to win the appeal

Formula 1's governing body says the controversial Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is "tarnishing the image" of the sport.

The FIA will conduct a "detailed analysis and clarification exercise" into the running of Sunday's race, with all the teams and drivers, "to draw any lessons from the situation".

It is an effective admission of mistakes in the running of the race that decided the world championship.

Race director Michael Masi's actions are at the centre of the controversy.

The Australian appeared not to follow the rules and standard protocol on restarting the race after a late-race safety-car period, but he is not mentioned in the FIA statement.

LOL That is not an admission at all. Of course there needs to be a review, that is a given but to already call it an admission is just ridiculous.

Interesting legal analysis of whether the rules were correctly applied (or not) here - https://medium.com/@gwkj1/analysing-the-fi...1ca3810060

It would seem Hamilton is being very magnanimous and has asked Mercedes not to continue with the protest - I guess we shall see come 19:00 today.... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Mercedes has decided not to pursue it.

I agree that this was Toto and not Lewis driving this. There is no suggestion that Lewis was a driving force behind this. And also some driver comms suggest that he wanted to come in for tyres. I suspect that a lot of this was driven by frustration of Toto making the wrong decision.

There we go, it’s official Mercedes will not appeal the decision as the FIA have announced their investigation.

Shame that's what it come too but I still think they are right too pursue it. Not for lh too get the championship but for the fia to be held accountable for what they have done. When you've got a decent amount of people from both sides stating what MM done was wrong that's a hint, when you get people like George Russel, David couthard, webber etc saying what Mm done was wrong that's when it's time too leave ad next season if he's still running the show, I think it will loose a lot of supporters, sponsors as whats the point in watching a game where you never know how it's going yoo get turned upside down.

If it was football and England was winning 19 nil against Andorra but the ref said next goal wins and that was by some miracle Andorra how much of a shambles does that make the football look as well as make the whole football community look

A very professional response issued by Mercedes.

But we all know that if the shoe was on the other foot, Mad Max & Horner would be handing in the appeal personally right now. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
