Has anyone purchased an apple car play solution yet that works on the OE factory screen 13MY-17MY please? Can we get a definitive answer from those of you that have tried please?

been looking at this for a while now Craig and i've narrowed it down to 2 options..there are some units which can be bought abroad but these are in the UK..

I like the look of the second (less expensive one). Fitting seems fairly idiot proof too. I guess that you lose the original satnav so presumably no phone with you will mean no satnav either. The lack of reviews (2) suggests not too many sales to date.

most times if you need the nav then you'd have your phone with you...other than that maybe a supplementary cheap chinese nav [£20-30] to help if needed.. ... - .- -.

i thought i would update this thread with an option, although its not using the OE screen its an add on that can be quickly removed..

like baltic blue's [mike] setup, its a console that can , when connected to a phone, display carplay/android auto so you get waze and google maps ..it also plays audio and video..

the audio can be via the unit , FM link or cable to your aux in..

the 7'' screen is very bright and sunlight readable ..

I’ve got the identical unit similarly fitted in my 2011 L322, and have been really pleased with the ease of fitting and how well it works.
I just need an L405 now to swap it over into

How much was it ?
How is it mounted ?

usb is for connecting your phone [android auto or carplay] and it charges it at the same time.

carplay can be connected wirelessly as can AA..

units are rare but i've seen them on ebay for around £200-250 ....mine was much cheaper due to an auction win..

i fettled a bracket which slides into the space at the top of the vents and the top dash .. ... - .- -.

I've got a phone mount there right now, but the bigger screen is clearly better.

I can't make my mind up - if the built in one gets under £500 I would be very tempted by that.....
