If the standard mechanism, arms & wipers are up to spec' then I just don't see the point.

With everything in order then if you still can't see where you are going then perhaps slowing down is the answer.

I'm not sure most Range Rover and Disco drivers know what slow is? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Some people like the look of them better which is fair enough. And for some cars they can work very well if not better. Personally I don't think the FFRR is one of them.

If you have to slow down than they are not in spec Laughing That was my problem with the Aeros at high speeds they just don't have the pressure on the glass to have a good even wipe.

My experience on my Mercedes is that they are considerably better at taking the form of the screen and clearing it.

However, they made noise at 70mph on my Range Rover - Because they aren't designed for Aero blades and don't have wind deflectors on the arms (late RRs do, but still not designed for Aero blades). So, I got rid of them.

If anyone wants to buy them though, here:

LOL I've had exactly the same experience. They were brilliant on our Mercedes GL class, very good indeed, but the glass is quite shaped in the wiping area. When it was cracked no after market glass fitted well, took them 8 visits and ultimately got the glass from MB which was perfect.

OK, let me elaborate ;

Everything is in spec & the rain/snow/sleet/spray is that heavy you cannot really see where you are going suggests to me that a competent driver should take road conditions into account & slow down.

Sure but you are missing the point as not everything is equal. That Aeros just aren’t as effective on a L322. But feel free to keep moving those goal posts if that makes you happy.

My experience was that the Aero wipers work well - just as well as they do on cars designed for them. And after having Mercedes for the last 9 years, all of which had Aero blades, I did miss how much better they are at clearing the screen.

HOWEVER, the whistling buzzing noise from them above 60mph so was infuriating that I couldn't stand it and removed them. Aero wiper blades have a lip on them but without a bonnet designed to do so or wind deflector on the arm designed to push turbulent air over them instead of into them, a certain speed at which the air hits them will cause them to make an annoying noise.

These are refined, quiet and comfortable cars and any significant noises become very noticeable.

The Bosch 808 blades work fine but, I do notice the difference vs Aero blades - the trade off would be the noise, a trade off not worth it in my view. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
