I have all my music on my phone - which is paired with the car & works fine.

It was the same issue when they discontinued the record player.

I'm not sure that I understand your problem, but be aware that only the 2 USB slots in the central cubby can be used for media and I have used sticks up to 256GB without any problem. You can see even movies from them (while stopped, of course) and although clunky, the menu shows all the ripped mp3 files, flac or mp4's in different configurable ways. It is true that, since CarPlay, I never used the USB drive, it's much more convenient to stream from the phone...

The multimedia system has been changed in 2017, I believe, it's practically an Intel Atom micro PC with a 60GB SSD... "It's an Intel Quad Core 1.9 GHz Atom E3845 SOC with 4GB of RAM and a 60GB SSD. If Rear Seat Entertainment is specified, a 160GB SSD is used. With the 60GB drive, 10GB is configured for user media, the 160GB drive increases that to 110GB of user media storage". The maps occupy ~ 35GB. From the ICTP FAQ: Can I rip CDs to Touch Pro’s media library? Yes, the on-board Gracenote database matches the track information as well as album and artist artwork. Once you insert the CD, an icon will appear next to the playback controls allowing you to rip it. Of course, not having a CD player, I cannot test this function. There is no rip from USB option either. But, at least for me, it would be pointless anyway, even a 512GB USB stick is now ~ 65€... Also, CarPlay, etc. |
