Hi all, been browsing the boards for hints and tips so I thought I’d introduce myself.

I’ve just picked up the above in Java black with sand interior, with a lot of miles but full service history and many of the known issues either fixed or in the process of being fixed. It’s had:
* the gearbox refurbed 30,000 or so ago after failure
* rust cut out of the rear arches and boot and new metal welded in
* front suspension rebuild with new shocks and air compressor

Otherwise it’s fairly stock, used as a utility vehicle both on and off road so has been put through its paces.

Current issues I’m working on:
* rear electric windows not working (this has me stumped)
* drivers heated seat not working (going to take the seat out and attempt the ‘element fix’)
* air suspension inactive after long drives but then seems to clear itself after a few days
* condensation in the rear lights
* general cleaning up of the paintwork and the interior, it looks like it’s spent most of its life in a hedge

So far just been enjoying driving it and hoping it gives us many happy and not (too) expensive miles! I like a project, and this is already living up to that!

Fixing the niggles on the Range Rovers is a good way to keep you amused. I've had plenty of them on mine over the last 10 months!

Nice looking unmolested RR you have there.

As for the rear windows mine have a character all of their own & do what they like when they like - I've disconnected the rear control units so that they only operate from the drivers switch panel - do yours work at all ?

As for the rear lights some people cure this by drilling a couple of holes in the housings.

Please don't be tempted to "bling it up" - original L322's are getting rarer by the day & I reckon the genuine ones will start to hold their money now.

These RR's are a bit like a mistress, they cost you money when good, they cost you even more when bad.
There are times when they break your heart (& wallet).
You may plot it's demise when off the road to be fixed, but when fixed you will not get far down the road before it's all forgiven

I've spent a lot of time and money putting mine back to the condition it left the factory in. I've removed all the chrome, etc. and had the wheels put back to silver.

IMO the L322 is a cracking looking car the way it was delivered without all the add ons and stick on bits.

Hey all, thanks for the welcome!

It certainly won't be blinged, I even like the large tyres on them and think they make it look the part. The only bit that will change colour wise is I have (until the originals get refurbed) bought some handle covers as mine have all but lost all their colour, and I will be painting the bonnet vent as that is now pebbledash.The only chrome bit on it (apart from the original vents) is above the boot handle, not sure this was original?

The paintwork is amazing on the drivers side after a polish, but still awful on the passenger side, with a few bits that need painting. Also just found out it has front parking sensors that don't work!

Thanks for the tip on rear lights, I'll search and see where the best place to drill is but that makes sense.

My rear windows don't work from any of the switches unfortunately, I can hear a 'click' from the front but nothing from the rear where the motors are, so possible BCM fault? I have a GAP IID tool on the way so I'm hoping this will simplify my fault finding!
