2010 L322 Glovebox Trim

Evening All,

I'm looking for a bit of help relating to the glovebox on the 2010 model i've just purchased.

When you open the glovebox, the latch that catches it and prevents it from dropping to the lowest point (to access the fusebox) comes straight through the hole on the inner glovebox moulding. This results in the glovebox constantly dropping to its lowest position when there is any weight inside the glovebox. I can't find any reference to a part number, but it is as if there is a rubber grommet missing which results in the hole being ever so slightly too large. Could someone please let me know whether there should be a rubber grommet around this hole, or offer another explanation for why this might be happening.

Many thanks!

Sorry I can’t help you with the part number but I’ve had the same issue on mine. The plastic hook that goes through the hole can be gently bent (leg of the hook) while it’s out of the hole (in its lowest position). Then guide it back into the hole. At least this worked on mine. Current

Thanks Graham. I'll give it a go and maybe try softening it with some verryyyyy gentle heat.

Bend it back. Works a treat. Careful with heat. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
