Lots about P040D on here. Most independent specialist will be able to change the sensor quote easily. It's a swine of a job. Lots of arguments that it doesn't affect dpf regen but a few specialist I know will tell you it's needed for regen especially on red dfp full signal. I had mine changed out so I was sure it was working. I recommend same to others now Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Thanks for that - I'd done quite a bit of reading on that code on this forum and others but didn't seem to find a general concensus on it being done or not. I think, for the peace of mind, I'll add it to the list of things needing done. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

Did you get it physically inspected or just the codes? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

AFAIK reconditioned compressors are available and it's an easy DIY job to replace. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I refurbished them on my p38 so would be happy doing the same for this one but don't want to throw money at things in the hope they fix it. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

I'd hold off any decisions until it's had a full inspection as only then can you asses if the car is worth investing in or returning to the dealer...... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I'd love it if I had somewhere local to do that but I just don't. Ideally I'd leave it with a company to check over etc and collect it when they're done.

Boot it in S mode to get the revs over 2400rpm and see if you have created a smoke cloud in your rear view mirror…… 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

You have a non-smoker. Doesn't mean it has had the mod done. Not all do it.
