Intermittent Suspension Fault but No Codes?

I have been frustrated by and intermittent suspension fault over the past few months 'Suspension Fault - Max sped 30mph' on the dash and the car starts sinking. Pull over and restart brings everything back to normal for anything from 1day to 1 month. IID was previously showing 'cross articulation algorithm' error BUT the last two times the fault occurred there were no fault codes recorded. I cannot grasp why a dash fault indication wouldn't be recorded on the appropriate ECU? Would say a loose connection throw up a dashboard fault but not be read by the IID?
Any thoughts appreciated. 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

Has your IIDtool been configured to show all faults? I can't recall the specific type of fault that ex factory hasn't been selected but Pending comes to mind.

I would have a go at recalibrating your EAS system with the IID, this may cure it, if not it is probably a sensor or the wiring to one of them, live values with the IID and remove and move the rods to check they are working OK... Cheap checks to do and may give you a solution.. Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks for the replies. EAS was recalibrated about 6 weeks ago, after which no faults came up for about a month. Now back to square one with the pesky intermittent 'cross articulation algorithm' issue. I assume a dodgy ride height sensor would come up with a specific fault code? In the absence of this I am erring towards a dodgy wiring connection. Can IID help identify?
Heights are maintained overnight, so no leaks in the system. However, compressor does struggle to get to offload height after more than one cycle, so I assume that compressor is getting tired (130,000miles original). Could a tired compressor be the root cause? 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue
