Brand New Autobiography windscreen fogging up whilst parked

Had this car a month now. I’ve noticed recently that when the car is parked up the windscreen fogs up. The car was last driven yesterday and this is what it looks like now.

(Also I don’t know what’s up with the circle marks on each side of the windscreen, they’ve been there since we’ve had the car).

Is this normal for this model or do you think there’s a problem with it? No sign of any leaks anywhere, I mean there shouldn’t be on a brand new car. It’s already booked in a the end of the month for some minor things that need fixing but just wanted to know if this is normal in case the dealer tries to fob me off.

There's water somewhere in the car.

The circle marks are from the suckers used to install the screen. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Check the carpets aren’t wet. As mentioned there’s a significant amount of water getting into the cabin Christian.

Yeah I’ve looked everywhere I can think of in the car but can’t find any water / anything wet. The carpets are bone dry as well. Bit puzzled by what’s causing it.

Check the coolant level (heater matrix could be leaking) and the air intakes under the bonnet - can get full of leaves and crud on other cars, not sure if RR’s suffer but worth a look as the leaves can cause rain to flow in behind dash Christian.

2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green

If it had been stood outside for a bit it could just have a lot of condensation inside - mine has steamed up when parked somewhere sheltered for a while. I’d see what happens after a long drive to clear it out.

Yeah it lives outside on the driveway. It was driven yesterday and it steamed up a lot when driving it but I put it down to it raining and people sitting in the car etc. but it had cleared up by the time I got home. After a day of it sitting there it’s just steamed up by itself again with no one in it.

Just to build on Cass comment - are you running the AC? If not make sure you are for the next few trips as the AC will take moisture out of the air and start to dry out the car.

Even in winter I find I have to run the AC for a while when it is cold as it helps with the demist.

Maybe you already are running AC in which case ignore the above - and see if you can take it for a few long runs where you have the cabin nice and toasty to dry it out. Likely just build up of moisture as said above if it has been standing for a while.

Could also check door seals and anywhere where moisture might enter.

Tbh no we haven’t really used the AC. Only times it’s on is when we press the max defrost button to clear the windscreen while driving. The AC definitely works though it’s just not on for long when we use it. I’ll try warm it all up and see if that helps solve it.

Had a look at the door seals etc and everything seems like normal.

That’s probably your your problem, the AC dries the air.
There isn’t any reason to turn it off in a modern car and lots of reasons to keep it running permanently.

Oh wow didn’t know that about running it permanently, learn something new everyday!

Only problem is the missus hates using the air con so will have try give it a go next time I’m in it by myself.
