I was getting persistent DPF messages, both amber and red but the GAP IID tool showed the soot level as zero and so wouldn't force a regen (I have the beta option enabled).

Indeed. I've done 2.5k miles since then, about 800 with the near two tonne tintent on the back and no recurrence.

One of the reasons it can go directly to red is a leak.

I think you will have to ask Pat to answer your question, but I can happily confirm that I used it again last week to forced a regen and it worked perfectly.

Did a forced regen and it went from 16g down to this in about 15 mins of motorway driving at 60-70mph
