L322 HID Bulb rating

Hello all,
From reading a few topics on this wonderful site it seems that 35W HID D3S lamps are the common replacement for 10-12 factory units. However, when I look at the chart in my owners handbook is specifies 55W D3S lamps.
Could someone please confirm which rating I should be going for?

Headlights tend to be 55w….

I’d be following the handbook.

Thanks for replies gents.
Stan - I had seen this before on the site so double checked my handbook last night and it definitely says 55W against the D3S, which is where my confusion comes from. It is a 2011 4.4TDV8 Autobiography.
Think my next step is to remove one of the lamps and see what power rating is stamped on it!

Yes, Handbook says 55w….

As you say, might be best seeing what’s actually fitted….

Thanks - I'll pull one in the next couple of days (when I can see and it isn't raining) and advise what it says. Thumbs Up

The original bulbs in my MY12's bi-xenons were 35W.

I thought the bulbs on the L322 were D2S. Good job I spotted this.

Just cancelled my D2S order and changed to D3S as my HID's are yellowing with age a bit and I've decided to get some new Osram ones. Christian.

Can I ask why you're replacing yours? Christian.

The number plate lamp bulb is also incorrect as they're C5W, not W5W.

Caesium, I'm also looking to replace as I feel they are quite yellow and as the car is 10 years old thinking of it as a bit of preventative maintenance.

@caesium, the bulb type changed from d3s on the 2002-2006 to d2s on the 2006-2009 and then d3s again on the 2010-2012.. [thats if my memory serves me well Laughing ] ... - .- -.
