Help

Hi all
Driving home the other night turned right and the car died. Coasted to a stop. Wouldn’t restart not enough power to raise the gear selector.
AA came out and jumped it, started straight away drove faultlessly home. Brought up the following codes. Any ideas where to start?
It has happened once before 14 months ago but it started up straight away then.

Your profile isn't filled in so no idea of model or age.

You haven't listed any codes.

Sounds a strange one - was there no warning at all before it stopped ?

4.4 TDV8 if the gear selector raises….. or in this case, doesn’t.

Does indeed seem strange. I’d have to start with the codes and go from there…. Sounds like a power issue if you are seeing issues before the engine fails to start… alternator/loose connection perhaps…. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

They are on tight. Was thinking it could be a faulty wire in the loom or a dodgy earth strap?

Battery earth connection to body bad / loose or as you say faulty earth strap.
Might be worth fitting a supplementary earth strap. Thumbs Up

From the engine to any bodywork. Any suitable bolt or stud on the engine/ bell housing to a good earth point under the bonnet will suffice. I got one made up from welding cable, for flexibility, by an eBay seller to the correct length with the end lugs with the hole sizes l required.
