They are on tight. Was thinking it could be a faulty wire in the loom or a dodgy earth strap? |

Battery earth connection to body bad / loose or as you say faulty earth strap.

From the engine to any bodywork. Any suitable bolt or stud on the engine/ bell housing to a good earth point under the bonnet will suffice. I got one made up from welding cable, for flexibility, by an eBay seller to the correct length with the end lugs with the hole sizes l required. |
