So, it seems that I may have a (small) problem with the electrical movements of my steering wheel.

Can anyone with a late L322 advise on what should be happening in the following instances please:

1. Movement back and fore using the stalk - should it be smooth and continuous all the way, as per my 3.6, or does it need several individual pushes or pulls on the stalk to get the full spectrum of movement?

2. Whenever I switched my 2009 3.6 off, the steering wheel would move up automatically (presumably to facilitate easier entry/exit. Subsequent Ignition On would bring the wheel back down to my pre-set position. Should my 2012 be doing this too, because the wheel doesn't move with ignition On/Off. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

As a first step, have you tried setting it the way you want with the key in ignition and then setting the memory?

It would then be programmed to your key. It may not overcome the problem but, as I said, first step.

I think JMC has a 2012 and as such it doesn't have a "key in the ignition". Remote fob and starter button instead.  Cheers

1. That's what I suspected.

2. I know about Easy Entry (have switched it off), but when it was on, the wheel didn't move - only the seat.

Sorry if I mistook your knowing of Easy Entry.

The wheel should move fully up when EA is on, as mine does. I suspect you have a fault within the column eletrickery bits and that's not something I'm familiar with... YET!

So, just to be clear, my steering wheel moves in/out/up/down, but the in/out only works with several pushes/pulls of the lever. The up/down works all the way with a single push up/down of the lever. It goes all the way in and all the way out, but I have to do half a dozen pushes /pulls on the lever to acheive this. It just moves a small amount each time and then stops.

Also, the wheel doesn't move up out of the way when the ignition is switched off, nor does it move when lazy entry/exit is activated. It also doesn't move with the memory button, while the seat and mirrors do.

In other words, it's certainly not a 'problem' as it doesn't bother me in everyday use, but it's not doing what it's meant to!  The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I Never moved mine, just incase it packed up in a not good position.!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
