2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Santorini Black
2006 FFRR 4.2 SC - which coolant?

This ought to be simple, and to a degree it is because the answer is “the pink one, dummy, because that is what is it in already!”, but no.

Which LR coolant is the pink one?

PDA500300, which should be the part number for this coolant, comes up on searching as a blue coolant.

There is another LR coolant which is in the same bottle but has a white label with black writing (vs black label with white writing for the blue one) but I can’t work out what colour it is.

And there is a LR Extended Life coolant (which I have bought), same bottle, white label, which is yellow. Reluctant to chuck that in just it case it congeals with the pink that is in there.

Any firm advice?

This is what I use / have :-

Extended life in a black 1 ltr bottle with white label & black text (used for top ups).
STC 50529 (Pink Antifreeze).

Extended life in a black 5 ltr container with black label and white text. (used to fill the 1 ltr bottle, makes filling easier)
STC 50530 (Piink Antifreeze)

I seem to remember reading somewhere if you mix blue antifreeze with pink antifreeze it turns to gel as its a different composition.

Pour some into the container cap to check its colour, I did look in the bottle and yes it does have a yellow tinge
but if you pour a little out it is pink.... weird.

Bloody hell - I feel stupid and amazed in equal measure!

In the black bottle the Extended Life stuff is yellow - to my eyes a clear mustard yellow. But pout into the cap, with its white base and IT TURNS PINK IN FRONT OF MY EYES!

I feel like I have just seen a bloody magic trick!

Anyway, thank Sstrider for that - it's made my day in two different ways. Range Rover 4.2 SC

No problem glad to help,

After reading your post I did a google search for suitable a/freeze for a 4.2, a minefield of different ones came up.

I did exactly the same, thought the main dealer had sold me the wrong type phew!!!.
