Battery light on dashboard

Good evening gentlemen,

For the last month or so, from shortly after start up and for about 10 minutes the red battery light illuminates on the dash. It always goes away after roughly 10 to 15 minutes, and the battery seems fine with plenty of poke on startup.

I had the battery replaced about 18 months ago, and had a new alternator fitted about 9 months ago.

I’m wondering if it’s anything to do with the key fob charging. But I don’t really know. I had thought about getting the battery checked and seeing if the alternator is recharging the battery sufficiently. Does anyone have any thoughts or experienced similar with their vehicle?

Sounds like the alternator is on its way mate. My airbag light come on with mine. Scanned it with iid and it said airbag low voltage. Check the battery before you start it up next time n see what's going on

Put a multimeter on the battery before starting and then again with engine running. Should be over 14v with engine running. Check belt tightness as well to see if slipping. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

Thanks for the heads up gents. This info gives me an idea of where to start.

Much appreciated, as always.

I would also be inclined to check the connections to the alternator and battery for tightness. Thumbs Up
