When I start the engine, the usual car shape appears in front of driver. When I put my belt on, it shows a green tick In the seat position on the diagram, and goes off. When I have a front seat passenger, the same thing happens. But then an amber seatbelt sign illuminates to the left on the dash, even though the belt is fastened, no bongs just light. Any thoughts please.

Could it be a warning that youve got the child safety seat switch set?

what model year do you have ? i cant find a reference to an amber seat belt sign in the handbook, only a red one, is it the airbag warning light ?

It’s the airbag warning light. Have you moved the seat around much recently. can be a problem with the under seat wiring
For the airbags which cause the light to come on iirc. Happened once on mine, but hasn’t recurred. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks Guys, great help as usual. Yep, seatbelt sign, loads online, including here. Seems intermittent, some say wiring behind seat back, some say outside temperature, others say the car is haunted because no faults found. But I did find an airbag recall in 2013 for SDV8 models.

UPDATE......
After listening to your advice, I went under the front seats and gently moved the wiring. Guess what, no airbag light. Just one other question, is there an airbag light on each side to indicate which side is faulty ?s

no just the one warning light with no indication which side has the problem. Sounds like a loose connection which was what was causing the issue on mine. Id put the seat right back and down which obviously knocked something out of position. Once the seat was back up I had a google and a prod under the seat and everything went back to normal.  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
