Windscreen Washer Pump Replacement

Windscreen washer pump has failed, and as I'm paranoid about jacking up the vehicle looks as though I'll have to access the pump by the bumper removal route. Before I make a start, can anyone categorically confirm that the washer pump will be accessible after removing the bumper? Many thanks! 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

Replaced my headlight washer pump prior to the last Mot I loosened the inner wheel arch on passenger side the pumps sit alongside each other attached to the back of the washer bottle. I would have thought removing the front bumper would be a much bigger and fraught job and probably requires removal of both front wheels and liners to gain access.

I followed you tube video this clearly shows the pumps on the back side of the bottle.

Thanks V8 Bob. Did you remove the wheel or is there sufficient clearance to ‘peel back’ the liner at off-road height? 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

I took off the wheel and used an axle stand to support the vehicle. Was a straight forward job. Have to unclog liner along bottom edge….clips have a centre pin that opens out the lugs.

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to get myself a decent trolley jack and axle stands, and strive to overcome my jacking paranoia! 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

Hi, I have exchanged the headlight washer pump there’s no need to raise the car. Turn the front wheels to full right hand lock. Then remove the front section of the near side wheel arch cover, the washer tank will then be visible with the three pumps located in the rear of it the headlight pump is the one on the extreme left. It is larger than the other two which are the front and rear screen respectively. All three are just an interference fit sealed to the plastic washer tank by rubber grommets. Be aware that when you remove the pump the contents of the washer tank will pour out of the opening best to have a bowl or similar to prevent washer fluid from squirting I’m the ground on which you’re lying. Obviously you need to disconnect the electrical connector and the small rubber pipe which goes to the headlight washer jets. Note the headlight pump is larger than the other two pumps as it is a high pressure pump. This procedure relates to a 2009 L322. I did this without removing the road wheel but did raise the suspension to off road. L/R procedure is to remove the front bumper which is a pain.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Fuji White
2010-12 L322 Rear Washer Relay Location

Hi all

Re-posting this here because i inadvertently posted it originally on the wrong topic section.

Following on from the discussion above, I am really struggling to find the relay for the rear washer motor on my 2011 L322 Autobiography (5.0L SC Petrol). The wiring diagram (which was really difficult to find for the 2010-12 version) shows the front and rear washer relays in the central control box which i understand to be the fuse box behind the glove box which only has 3 relays in it for the cigarette lighters and audio system. In the 2002-2009 versions of the L322 the relays were behind the battery but in the 2010-12 version there is nothing behind the battery and in front of the battery is the ECU. Does anyone have any ideas? I have seen a couple of threads on here about the same thing but the question was never answered as far as i can see. I am pretty sure it is the relay that is caput rather than the washer motor because when i push the stalk back no power goes to the washer motor but i tried switching the front washer plug onto the rear washer motor, pulled the stalk forward and the rear motor pumped fine out of the rear jet.

Pulling my hair out trying to locate the relay so any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks - I did try but just couldn’t get my hand in far enough. Admitted defeat and entrusted the job to my local indie. 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue
