Replaced my headlight washer pump prior to the last Mot I loosened the inner wheel arch on passenger side the pumps sit alongside each other attached to the back of the washer bottle. I would have thought removing the front bumper would be a much bigger and fraught job and probably requires removal of both front wheels and liners to gain access.

Thanks V8 Bob. Did you remove the wheel or is there sufficient clearance to ‘peel back’ the liner at off-road height? 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

I took off the wheel and used an axle stand to support the vehicle. Was a straight forward job. Have to unclog liner along bottom edge….clips have a centre pin that opens out the lugs.

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to get myself a decent trolley jack and axle stands, and strive to overcome my jacking paranoia! 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

Hi, I have exchanged the headlight washer pump there’s no need to raise the car. Turn the front wheels to full right hand lock. Then remove the front section of the near side wheel arch cover, the washer tank will then be visible with the three pumps located in the rear of it the headlight pump is the one on the extreme left. It is larger than the other two which are the front and rear screen respectively. All three are just an interference fit sealed to the plastic washer tank by rubber grommets. Be aware that when you remove the pump the contents of the washer tank will pour out of the opening best to have a bowl or similar to prevent washer fluid from squirting I’m the ground on which you’re lying. Obviously you need to disconnect the electrical connector and the small rubber pipe which goes to the headlight washer jets. Note the headlight pump is larger than the other two pumps as it is a high pressure pump. This procedure relates to a 2009 L322. I did this without removing the road wheel but did raise the suspension to off road. L/R procedure is to remove the front bumper which is a pain. |

Thanks - I did try but just couldn’t get my hand in far enough. Admitted defeat and entrusted the job to my local indie. 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue TVR Griffith Alfa Romeo Mito QV |
