Did you remove the plastic locating pimples from the underside of the front air-springs? They're only there to make production fitting easier in the same manner as the ones on the top which have to be snapped off if camber adjustment is required.

Yes, they only exist to guide the air-spring into the strut during factory assembly.

Interesting post, I have been thinking to go back down to 20" for my overlanding build & was thinking 275/60/20 BFG ATs or 275/55/20

Is this a hard size to get then & what's the fit like? If you own an IID tool, can't you just raise the suspension up a touch to accommodate the larger size or even fit Johnson rods?

There is of course another problem..

This is a 275/55r20 fully deflated.. Big Cry
What do others do?? I guess my choices are 1) just chuck spare in the back and have less luggage space.. 2) find a bottle of tyre sealant and a pump or3) get a roof rack??

Don’t suppose they like being driven on one corner with a spare that is 2 inches diameter smaller?? 2010 RR 4.4tdV8 Autobiography

Mine sits on 50mmx50mm full length strips of sponge and with the 2 plastic prongs reversed. However I've just bought 255/60R19 GG AT3 which have only just become available here by a tyre importer to fit to D4 rims to go down to 31" but retain the same sidewall height and higher load rating, although they won't be fitted for a couple of months.

275/55R20 fit in the guards well enough not to have to raise the suspension even though I have my LLAMS kit fitted to allow extra bump-stop clearance for fast gravel and tracks and more ground clearance for more serious off-road.

Unnecessary quote removed

I don't have that issue to worry about as my LPG tank is in the spare wheel space, although for longer trips I will have an issue as I won't be comfortable just having a couple cans of tyre sealant. I will need a spare but nowhere to put one. Roof has a tent on it & boot is filled with gear. 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography

Hi, looking to put 275/55 R20 on my 2012 TDV8. With these pins removed could the spacers be removed or did you still get rubbing on the front. Will probably modify the fuel filler bulge in the rear arch to.avoid rubbing there.

What offset are your wheels? Any issues fitting 275 tyres on 8.5inch wheels? Some research suggests they are too wide... But seems others have done it using standard rims. Thanks for your help. 2012 4.4 TDV8 AB Sumatara Black with Ivory / Jet interior

Hi.. sorry not sure what offset my rims are, but they are original early L322 rims, check out the photos in this post. I didn’t remove or break off any of the pins as I didn’t need to, but I have got lift rods and spacers.. interestingly I now have 275/55 r20 Goodrich AT K02s on the front (as the grabber sidewalls failed Censored ) and they don’t rub at all.. 2010 RR 4.4tdV8 Autobiography

No worries, thanks. Yeh did see them think they are 20 x 8.5. with a 58mm offset like mine, which are the 2012 Autobiography wheels/were also on the Westminster.

Ah so with your lift rods have helped with clearance and assume you still have the spacers in with the K02s
Think I can get a way without lifters as can amend height defaults with IID tool...spacers - might order as a backup.
Was looking at the Cooper Discoverer AT Sport 2 275/55/20 tyres for mine.
Like everyone, wanting to make sure they will fit and main adjustment is to fuel filler in the rear arch and maybe some tweaking to the front struts as mentioned in this thread, but in some threads the 275 is too wide for the 8.5 inch wide wheel.

We'll see how we go.... thanks for your help and happy New Year! 2012 4.4 TDV8 AB Sumatara Black with Ivory / Jet interior

I had 275/55R20 KO2 and Pirelli AT+ mounted on my original MY12 rims. Suspension heights are standard and no spacers were fitted, which are highly illegal here anyway.
