I've taken it for a spin down to the container where the subaru lives david. Thats about 37 miles each way. Someone also.decided too leave his house keys there as well and only realised when I got home so done a good 150 mile that day. Seems to run pretty nice. Gear changes are let's say a bit jumpy if you just hit the noisy pedal but it's due to go and have a mega flush and service kit on the 1st September. Drive it slowly and its pretty comfortable all the way through. No obvious knocks, bangs, unusual sounds heard so far except the radio seems to produce quite a bit if static interference.

Yea think I've done pretty well. Just gotta decide now on which one too sell. Wbac was offering me £1750 for the 53 plate one last week.

Gearbox is a bit jumpy through most of the gears if your using more then 50% of the throttle but considering its got no history I think its worth getting the box done for my own peace of mind as this is the one I'm likely too keep.

Few fresh pics. Had its first bath the other day. Comes up pretty nice. Just needs a few finishing touches too it so 1st job will be

Window tinting
Sort the rust spots
Refurb wheels and calipers
Then remap and charger pully upgrade

Little update, car went into Dartford transmissions in Dartford had the mega flush and filter service with detailed examination completed. Few bits of advice given but left the site with a smile bigger then a coke head buzzing on a 50kg supply of coke. Genuinely feels like such a different car now. Picks up speed nicely when you hit the noisy pedal and you can here the charger whining but is also really quiet when driving along at a steady rate. Even pretty good on fuel and no real different to the BMW 4.4 engine.

Tomorrow's job I suspect will be take the trailer and impreza back to the storage unit, back home and then remove the tow bar 9f the 53 plate and put it on the 06 one.

Yea it's been a big gamble but it's paid off I think. Feels like a pretty decent car, has loads of power, no knocks, bangs etc. Sadly though I've already picked up the modification bug again with this one so will be getting a few mods done such as a direct metal air intake, charger pully upgrades and possibly going too look at an aftermarket exhaust with suitable remap.

Obviously having a subaru impreza and being given this ain't enough of a challenge too me

Well rare couple of days off for me so decided that I'd take the tow bar off the 53 plate range and fit it to this one as I'll be keeping this one for the foreseeable.

So towbar off and fitted too the new one except the exhaust hangers don't fit. Run out of time today so will be looking at possibly cutting some of the exhaust bracket down and welding it to the chassis bars.







Apart from the fuel bill absolutely love the car

That's just typical east London. Since the so called fuel crisis the fuel prices have just gone through the roof and remained there.

Anyways towbar all fitted and working nicely. Bracket on the exhaust had given up so decided should just get it sorted.

Well today I managed too sort the audio issues so the sound system now is pretty enjoyable. Starting too get the impression though the previous owner done things on the cheap by creating a loop on the fibre optic cable with a normal electric junction box.....

£44 later and hey presto a working sound system.

Well sadly the range failed its mot so whilst yesterday I was supposed to get on with the repair jobs, guess who overslept and realised they was still missing most of the tools required as I'm sure some of you guys have seen on my other wheel nuts thread.

Anyhow on to the jobs in question today so started on the nearside.

Got the range jacked up and supported with a 3 ton axle stand and started undoing all the rusty.
