I've taken it for a spin down to the container where the subaru lives david. Thats about 37 miles each way. Someone also.decided too leave his house keys there as well and only realised when I got home so done a good 150 mile that day. Seems to run pretty nice. Gear changes are let's say a bit jumpy if you just hit the noisy pedal but it's due to go and have a mega flush and service kit on the 1st September. Drive it slowly and its pretty comfortable all the way through. No obvious knocks, bangs, unusual sounds heard so far except the radio seems to produce quite a bit if static interference.

Cheers David.
Soon as I'm back from Spain, I'll get the plugs and oil changed as I'm none the wiser when these was last done. Oil looks pretty clean saying that then hopefully I'll get the towbar swapped onto it. Cheers Allen |

Well rare couple of days off for me so decided that I'd take the tow bar off the 53 plate range and fit it to this one as I'll be keeping this one for the foreseeable.

Well today I managed too sort the audio issues so the sound system now is pretty enjoyable. Starting too get the impression though the previous owner done things on the cheap by creating a loop on the fibre optic cable with a normal electric junction box.....
Next task will be too order the oils for the diffs, transfer box, plugs, oil and filter then get the aircon regassed |

Well sadly the range failed its mot so whilst yesterday I was supposed to get on with the repair jobs, guess who overslept and realised they was still missing most of the tools required as I'm sure some of you guys have seen on my other wheel nuts thread.
Luckily only one put up a bit of fight but I guess if I undone it all the way first it probably wouldn't have been an issue. Decided to remove the brake disc and caliper to give me a bit more room. Had a pop at removing the brake shield but this was obvious the bolt would snap so abandoned that idea.
Both the arms come off without too much trouble but I'd say the mot tester was right that it needed replacing. Only the front arm needed the trusty angle grinder
New arms and new bolts fitted. ![]() Replaced the pads as the mot tester gave me an advisory for the brake pads so while I'm on there might as well do the pads while I'm at it although not sure they needed doing.
Just gotta do the other side now but given it was 1600pm when I finished, think I'll do this another day.
