United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

Hi Mike, I had to take the vacuum connection off my csov to test it's function and did it from underneath and could reach it to pull it off. If you have long arms, like me, I'm pretty sure you could put the electrical connector on by feel, if you know what I mean.

Cheers Kevin,
I will get to it one way or another and hopefully report back that it cleared the code.

I wish I had taken some photos when I removed the air box and some pipes a couple of years ago when I removed them to ease the job of changing the fuel filter.
I seem to think I might get access from the top enough to reach down.

Watch this space. Rolling with laughter

I have fixed it Thumbs Up Very Happy
I don’t think this fault will ever get in the top ten on my fault log, but at least we now all know where to look when needed.

How did you reach it to clip back in? Grabber or by hand underneath? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

By hand from the top.
I removed the air pipe to the throttle body plus the pipe out of the air box, stood on a box to get further over the radiator then forced my arm down through the gap and was just able to get my fingers on it.
The cuts and bruises will heal eventually Rolling with laughter
But worth the effort to clear the code.
I am now just wondering if I will notice any difference in performance as the solenoid opens and closes.

Hi Mike,

I have the same PO033 code on my recently purchased 4.4TDV8. When I bought the car in November they had fitted new idler pullies on the front as they were noisy, so I thought that maybe they had dislodged this connector.

I have managed to see down and it does appear to be plugged in. So it may be a faulty unit. However, I have not noticed any issues with driving the car, and recently towed our Caravan on holiday with no issues. I will sort it out when the weather gets better, but did you notice any difference in performance with fixing this.

As its linked to controlling boost you would think it would have an effect.

Thanks

Really I can’t say I have noticed any difference, because I don’t get chance to really drive it hard enough to bring in the second turbo often, but when I do it really flies and scares the pants off me., usually down motorway slip roads I floor it just to check everything is working OK and then ease off before joining the motorway.
Nice to have cleared the code though.
Good luck sorting yours Thumbs Up
