Terra Clean

78,500 miles on the clock, so guess what, first signs of oil leaking from cooler gaskets.
I have just had both gaskets replaced , plus the O rings on the turbo feed pipe by Mills 4x4, my local independent garage.
The owner/ mechanic was rather taken aback by the amount of “crud” he removed from the plenum chamber and throttle body.
He asked me if I have considered having the car Terra Cleaned.
He can’t offer the service, so wasn’t after extra work, but thought it might be a good time to get it done whilst I know it won’t be flushing too much crud through the system because he has cleaned out as much as he could.

Any experience/ thoughts would be appreciated for me to consider.
I have found a fairly local agent , but thought I would ask on here for any experience/ thoughts.

Hi Mike. I had it done on my Santa fe that was really clogged up in the inlet manifold. I'm sure the cleaner is connected direct to the fuel lines so doesn't touch the inlet manifold or throttle body. It was still the same after. It obviously goes through the injectors though. Can't comment on whether it did anything because I had it remapped at the same time.

Thanks for the replies.
I have just been out for a good run , then parked in my garage with its newly painted floor, so I will know tomorrow if the leak is fixed.

I must add that the car is running perfectly, so my gut thought is to leave well alone, but I will read all the links then decide.

I have got two fairly long trips , one on Sunday , and again on Monday.
If it seems OK then I will wait before doing anything.

Always been under the impression that terraclean is more for the fuel lines and injectors. I think if you want too clean all the carbon build up your better off whipping the items off and cleaning them yourself

I’m mostly an advocate of don’t fix what’s not broke.

If it’s running well, you will be kicking yourself if there are issues after doing it.

I second your plan....
