My TMC problem is the gap between transmitter and receiver , about 12,000km |

Its on the near side (of a UK car). Pull off the left hand (as you look at it from the back) side cover and if memory server, it's above the wheel arch. Looks like a fag packet sized box.

Thanks for that. It was where you said. LHS rear compartment. It's got TMC on it in big letters which was a bit of a giveaway. |

Yes I had found that but it seems there is a bit of confusion in the workshop manual. The text that you posted says the aerial is located in the RH rear glass but both back glass windows contain the TV aerials. So the TMC module on the tailgate must connect to the rear screen somehow. This detail isn't contained, unless I've missed it, in the workshop manual.
