TMC problem - solved!

Finally got round to checking the fact my TMC wasn't working. Turned out the antenna connector had a large air-gap between it and the module i.e it wasn't connected!!! Whistle

I can't imagine how or why this could have happened as it clips in with a significant clip, but all is now well!!!

Its on the near side (of a UK car). Pull off the left hand (as you look at it from the back) side cover and if memory server, it's above the wheel arch. Looks like a fag packet sized box.

Of course, this was so long ago, it might actually be somewhere else completely! Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Thanks for that. It was where you said. LHS rear compartment. It's got TMC on it in big letters which was a bit of a giveaway. Rolling Eyes . Unfortunately for me it all looks well connected so this doesn't solve my problem.

Next I need to take the upper tailgate inside trim off to check if the TMC antenna is properly connected. I seem to remember reading that the trim comes off with a strong pull but I'm nervous about breaking something. 2012 5.0L S/C

I managed to get that cover off without breaking anything Surprised

There is a red module in there with a coax cable and a single cable. I think this is just a pre amplifier for the TMC module. I don't know where the aerial is. Still looking......

Cheers

Yes I had found that but it seems there is a bit of confusion in the workshop manual. The text that you posted says the aerial is located in the RH rear glass but both back glass windows contain the TV aerials. So the TMC module on the tailgate must connect to the rear screen somehow. This detail isn't contained, unless I've missed it, in the workshop manual.

Is there a more detailed manual that details the wiring of the individual modules?

Cheers

Chris
