TDV8 4.4 - Engine Noise - Any Thoughts?

We are trying to identify the cause of this engine noise on a 2011 TDV8 4.4.

It's only done 92K miles but does seem to have been overfilled with oil by a previous owner (we bought it knowing there was some kind of engine noise). Before we started it we removed over five litres of oil using a vacuum pump and the dash still said it only needed one litre to top it up to the correct level.

It does sound a little out of sorts on the front left cylinder as you stand in front of the bonnet but we can't quite work out if the noise is from a problematic rocker, valve or something peculiar such as a broken am chain guide, etc.

All thoughts and suggestions welcome before I have to remove the head for a closer look.

I think that area has the vacuum pump. Could be faulty? Non of your you tube videos work for me.

It doesn’t sound good to be honest. I think I would take the belts off along with anything else that turns externally including the vacuum pump. If it’s still there then it’s a case of stripping the engine. There is a warning in the manual to not drive it if it’s over filled. I guess there must be good reason for that. Hope you get it sorted.

I have also heard that the oil level sensor can go wrong giving a false display. Best to drain all oil and refill, you could have taken oil out for nothing if the sensor is Censored up ?
