That’s absurd! You can run a diesel with low, city mileage. If you literally could not there would be warnings, and there are not.

I thought the reason the 4.4 V8 diesel was dropped was because of emissions. |

My 4.4 has been fine. I did look at a P400e, but the boot size was a bit borderline with the executive rear seats so losing depth as well would have made it too small really. I think the electric running suits the RR really well, but I don’t do short journeys / city driving so less benefit and all the downsides of 4 cylinder engine which didn’t feel right in a RR. It was hard enough moving from a petrol V8 back to a diesel, losing cylinders as well would be a step too far.

Must admit since few months of ownership of the P400e... I have not filled any fuel. It's been in electric mode. Compared to the 5.0 where I think I used to spend between 60-80 pounds a month. I drive very few miles.

Daft question, how long does modern e5 and e10 unleaded last before it goes off? reason i ask is a colleague of mine with a BMW530e just tried to do an extended journey for the first time in 8months courtesy of the COVID restrictions, and once he exceeded battery distance it coughed spluttered and rolled to a stop on the hard shoulder. The AA man blamed the fuel having gone off and triggered the issue. Drained the tank, fresh fuel in cranked over a few times and it was back to normal 3hrs after it rolled to a halt.

Out of interest which additive did you use? We’re just looking for some for ours which is hoggish mileage diesel. Many thanks in advance, David |
