having it done professionally for £40 makes more sense than paying £45 for a halfords tin of baked beans..
like you did, i'm also worried that mine might have a leak but it sounds like its just ran out of gas.. ... - .- -.

We know better than to leave the aircon switched off for months at a time - saves money on regassing the system if you run it even in the winter.......... 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I used Kwik Fit and they did a good job but it only lasted a week, they re-did it free and again it only lasted a week so they gave me my money back no problem.

Dealer had it three times and said there was no problem but it only lasted a week each time, in the end they had to strip the front end to find the leak, over £400 for new pipes and the investigation.

I'm amazed that Freon refrigerant gas is available so freely over the counter at Halfords, it's one of the most vigorous ozone depleting gases there is - 1 part freon will destroy something like 400-500 parts of ozone if it is allowed to escape into the atmosphere. At work we have to get special permission to re-gas refrigerated container units, even with the less ozone depleting versions of freon and supplies of the gas are very strictly controlled 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Couldn't agree with Tim anymore. It's dangerous stuff.

Personally for the sake of £40 get it done. Just had mine done. Had 0.3 of gas (Whatever it measures in) and should have 0.51 in. They suck out all the gas, filter it and then put it back it back in with a top up.

Tis great Smile

Easiest way to check is there is 2 pipes. The front one should be hot, the second should be frozen near enough.... That is a brief check after the obvious. Used to have:
2005 FFRR 4.4 Vogue - BRC LPG Conversion & Remapped

Now have:
2008 SSRR 3.6 TDV8 - HSE and plenty of toys
