If I'm driving Miss Daisy then 20... I aim for much lower though......

I always feel happier the less MPG I do.... Thumbs Up

You don't buy a fatty for good MPG so it's all irrelevant really.... Whistle Pete

I wasn't going to enter this as I have an SC so to join in I am currently getting 12.9 mpg according to the dash. No very long journeys mostly running around with some 10 - 15 mile journeys.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Orkney Grey

5.0 SC, best I've seen is 23mpg (!) on a drive back from North Devon to Hampshire.

20 / 21mpg for a tank full is fairly common if I've been doing any distance.

For short local journeys I get about 15 / 16mpg.

These are trip computer readings, so make of that what you will....and there are very few roads around here that are >40mph, so that probably helps too Wink

I’m getting 23/24 mpg mixed driving in my 2009 3.6 TDV8. These things are thirsty.

Re: Best mpg by engine and model

In my 4.2 SC petrol I average about 15 MPG. All freeway driving I'll get 17 - 18. When towing another car it drops to 10.5.

Don't forget that's in USA gallons! 1 US gallon = about 1.2 UK gallons.

With both my old 3.6 TDV8 L322 and the current L405 SDV8 I reckon on 80 odd litres taking me around 500 miles. That will be mixed driving, so some short journeys, some long motorway schleps and some stop start urban driving. That works out at about 18 gallons over 500 miles, so around 28 mpg.

I last filled with 82 litres since when I have driven 548 miles, about 90% of which has been motorway at the legal speed set on the cruise control. The OBC tells me I have 105 miles left, the gauge suggests about 10% full, which on a capacity of around 85 litres (never been able to get more in) means I’ve used around 77 litres, which in turn works out at around 31 mpg. The OBC regularly tells me I get over 40 mpg……

Ive put this on here a few times. My SVA-D (565bhp) figures off the LR App so could be a bit of discrepancy, but I’m happy and to be honest if it done single figures I’d still drive it. Wink

How about this for a long term average, with all the peaks and troughs?
