L322 Rear arch repair

So while changing my discs & pads in the rear I thought I've to take off one arch liner so I might as well treat the arches to the preventative rust steps I've read about for the L322.

I followed the video here:

The products I used were Hammerite Kurust, Hammerite Black paint and two genuine Freelander arch protectors.

Freelander arch protectors: https://www.lrdirect.com/LR001623-Protector-Edge-Quarter-Pan/

Stage one with the Kurust, I left this dwell for 1.5 hours and then moved on to applying the regular Hammerite

From here on it was a matter of bolting things back up after a long drying time.

It's an easy thing to do and I would highly recommend it to any L322 owner.

Nicely done, one comment about using hammerite. Hammerite is a great paint for sure, I used to work offshore in horrendous environments, we used to use hammerite which did a decent job protecting metal against salt water, we then discovered aquasteel, this is in a completely different league. It turns rust into an almost glass like surface, really hard and protected, easy to apply etc etc.

Highly recommended.

I can also HIGHLY recommend Aquasteel - and we buy it in 25 litre drums - great for chassis refurbs as well Smile

Thanks for the tips with Aquasteel. I'll get some the next time I'm tackling an issue like that.

The video was the direction I needed! Thanks to Matthew!
