Looks like some paper or card with print has been left on the centre of our rear seat bench and what seems to be print/ ink has embossed the ivory leather.

Tried an eraser, Woollite with microfibre and also Autoglym magic sponge soaked in Wooliite but none have shifted it and in fact the magic sponge has left the finish coat looking almost matt.

Any ideas, I’ve got a steam cleaner but don’t want to take the coating off the leather?

Magic sponge is just fine sandpaper and will take the protective coating off...

Have you tried Dr Leather wipes?

Thanks gents, not tried Dr Leather wipes although do have some Furniture Clinic touch up but I don’t think it would sort out that area.

I’ll order and try the leather wipes next then.

However, impatient schoolboy error already done by using the magic sponge because can see that it looks flat finish in patches. It’ll get sorted of course but what a PITA

Since ordered Dr. Leather wipes and they arrive tomorrow apparently…

I use them on the Porsche leather which is almost white, just looking at it leaves a mark

Dr Leather wipes clean, they don’t mask. Based on what you’ve already tried, I’m not 100% sure they will sort the issue but worth a try. If they don’t work, at least you’ll have a car that smells nice and ‘leathery’ MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Why not..? If you can't sand it off with the sponge then covering it is all that's left...!

If you do the job properly using an adhesion promoter and cross linker in the paint, then the proper flat finish it works very well and is imperceptible...

If you don't want to do it yourself, ask the dealer for the number of the guy they use for trim repairs, all main dealers will use one and they are usually very good...  Pete

From personal experience it sounds as though you will have gone through the protective covering (as I did). Simple test is whether the area stays damp when a cleaner or conditioner is applied.

It isn't a problem either way as it can be coloured and protected. I ended up getting a professional to do it which was less expensive (£60) than all the kit I had bought to do it myself. It's worth looking around to see if someone is local to you.

I would try Gliptone GT12 Intensive Cleaner. It's good stuff. Kev

A large £24 tub of Dr Leather wipes arrived yesterday. They’ve not moved the highlighted print type transfer as pictured in the previous images. They didn’t make much of a difference to any of the leather although in fairness, it’s very clean to start with. Glad we now have a big batch though for keeping on top of the seats.

So what’s next to try… Gliptone GT12 and also conditioner… or what?
