There's a recently developed knock coming from the rear right side. It is more of a single "tock", which is barely audible. In its intensity, it resembles the usual noise of the gear selector when brake pedal is pressed while in neutral, or less than that.

Upper or lower hub bushes which are enclosed heim joints are another thing to check, they fail and knock... |

Buy genuine joints there are some awful cheap ones out there that only last about 6 months... |

You're right. No point replacing them now and having to do them again in six months time!! I used Lemförder, which btw were the priciest, for the front suspension.

When I did the rears on my old fatty had to use an HGV 3/4 drive rattle gun to undo the bolts, it snapped two of them... they are about 15mm so a right PITA...

I know exactly what you mean. Had I known how hard the ball joints and bushes were to remove I would have opted for complete assemblies instead and saved me a day. All this on a practically rust free car! Lesson learned.
