More battery drain woes!

My ff has ongoing battery drain issues. After replacing battery and alternator a parasitic draw was traced back to fuse 49.

It was initially thought that removing the fuse gave a draw of 0.02 but a further check yesterday, with the fuse removed revealed a FLUCTUATING draw of between 0.02 and 0.04.

Electrician has checked all the infotainment modules in the boot and all seem to be ok.

Has anybody experienced this?

Any ideas as to where to go now with this nightmare?

What is the draw with fuse 49 in ? 0.02 - 0.04 amps seems acceptable with it out.

You may need to inspect the internals of the infotainment modules, as in my search everything was "working" but one of them was causing a drain. .

Thanks Joe and Ivan.

Battery drain is amps. With fuse 49 in, draw is 0.05.

If I fully charge the battery to 12.7v, with general very short journey use, in about two weeks the battery will read around 12.0v.

Sounds about right......lots of electrical energy used on short trips, not enough time to charge up. .

Thanks again Joe.

I fitted a Varta 020 battery today and noticed the negative battery terminal clamp was very loose on the ‘old’ battery - tightened up on Varta. Hopefully this may help a bit.

My drain was the offside front headlamp wiper motor. Pulled that fuse and its been fine for 12 months now where is slowly killed a new battery over the summer last year. 2004 Vogue SE TD6

Thank you V8Simon.

Since fitting the Varta 020 battery readings over last six days have been between 12.5v and 12.7v so looking good, at the moment…… Thumbs Up
