TD6 Wastegate noise - right or wrong?

Silly question but can anyone else hear the wastegate on their TD6 when driving with the window down?

When I lift off the accelerator, I can hear the boost being vented, had it before due to a hole in the intercooler but that has been changed and I can still hear something.
I've just changed my intercooler (never again) and paranoid that I've a leak but might be I can hear it just because I don't often drive with the window down (pref option) but am at the moment.
Thanks in advance Very Happy 2004 Vogue SE TD6

Yep, I get that as well, think its normal.

It's not a wastegate though - it's the vacuum thingy that controls the variables vanes in the turbo, as far as I understand.

On mine it was the vanes in the turbo sticking, had it serviced by Midland Turbo. been ok since. The egr cokes them up. Do I really have time to tinker with one of these
