I had a search of the site but couldn't find anything specific on the rear door seals - most articles were about sealing the wheel arches.

Both my rear door seals are loose. Looking at the door and the rubber, there is a little hole in each, which I presume had a little plastic rivet in at some point? And, the seals don't actually hold in place by being inserted into a channel?

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with my seals, except they've come loose. I was expecting to search eBay and several aftermarket options come up but, there was nothing.

Is this a common issue (I'm assuming yes)? Is there a way to just re-attach the existing seals? Are there replacements available and if so, where from? Can they just be bodged and reattached with Sikaflex?

There is a full length plastic strip with the clips moulded into it, they aren't a lot of money from the dealers but yeah, Sikaflex or 3M VHB tape would do it...  Pete

Looks like the thin plastic strip is still there in the photo - should have fixings on the reverse side that clip into the holes.

As Haylands say, you can use various adhesive tapes, looks like the fastening strip bits may have broken off / perished. Below link is for the fixing strip you MAY need to refit. Different part for left and right doors.

Mind you, if it was just the lower bit loose, adhesive tape will be a good answer and cheap, my favourite type of repair

I recently purchased an assortment of plastic clips hoping to fit individual clips when I get to clean-off all the mud.

I fixed mine by cutting off the plastic clip strip just clear of the bottom hole then used a fir tree clip to hold the trimmed end of the strip. There's now no plastic strip past the bottom hole but it never held the seal in place anyway.

I had some clear sanitary silicone left over from a bathroom job so, put a big blob at each hole where the plastic strip would normally secure, plus a thin bead along the length.

I then held it in place with gaffa tape along the length plus, round the door edge then, shut some rags in the door to ensure the seal pressed sufficiently along the silicone and then just left it overnight. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
