I am looking for some roof rails form my new (to me) L405. Has anyone fitted the Powerful.uk ones, and if so do they use standard cross bars

I see they states these are not for vehicles with a panoramic/glass roof. What’s the reason behind that? |

Had a message back from powerful saying their bars won't fit with pan roof models. I have found another seller on eBay that says theirs fit with pan roof or not and they are cheaper than the powerful ones

I have the Powerful ones fitted and have a pano roof - the quality of the bars is reasonable, if not amazing. I suspect the reason they say they are not suitable for fitting to pano roofs is because there is always a risk of the roof cracking and they don't want the risk of an argument that the glass broke because of the bars. Ultimately, the genuine bars are the same for both the pano and non-pano models, with the only difference being the trim strips. As the powerful ones are compatible with genuine roof bar trim strips, I concluded that they should work regardless of whether or not you have a pano roof.

Thanks Will, I have spoken to several people who have fitted powerful ones to pan roof models with no problem. Not sure of their reason for stating "not for panoramic roof models". After all I would say the majority of L405 had a pan roof Paul

Finally got round to fitting my roof rails. Fairly straight forward job, took about an hour . If anyone is doing this job one thing to check is that the brackets are secured tightly to the rail (they come pre fitted). Ask me how how i know

This is number 1 priority job for me so I can transport my Oztent! - so thanks for sharing, they look great. Just to confirm, these are Powerful UK ones then? Did you drill the existing finisher strips? FFRR SDV8 Autobiography |

Yes, on the powerful vid they use a 22 but had to file it out. i did mine with a 25mm I got them spot on so didn't need to file them. Its only very thin aluminium so drills very easy
