BCM Swap

Hi All,

Has anyone swapped a BCM from one car to another?

If so what are the Pros/Cons?

I know a new BCM can be bought and coded to a car but why do people not swap in a BCM from a scrapped car?

Thanks,

Not sure which one you have but I don’t think they need to be programmed to another car. I bought one and fitted it myself. I take it it’s the body control module which sits under the pax seat?

Hi Dolphinboy,

Yea I am getting the central locking gremlin from time to time.
I have a new battery and alternator so i know its more than likely the BCM.
I have seen them come up for sale but i wanted to make sure swapping one over wouldn't create any new headaches for me.

Did you buy a second hand used one?

yep. there are a couple of model numbers (YWC000920/21/22). I think they all work on most models. I bought a second hand one but if you can go new and original it makes sense. I ended up buying 2 as the first one made no difference (was probably kaput)
