So, if the US MY22, on sale Oct 2021, will still be L405 then UK must be the same. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

On Friday and Saturday, I visited three dealerships, all said they were still taking orders for L405, though probably with a six month wait, and had no news on L460, though one said they had been given a calendar for 2022 which showed a big reveal event planned for March 2022, though it could be anything, Defender offshoots must be due soon to. One salesman did say we generally we knew before they did.

I’ve heard the same this week about the 22 MY being a carry over of 21 MY but customer orders are still being unslotted, whether that’s through components shortages or not, only time will tell, also if those orders then result in a build date. I’ll be interested to hear whether JamesD gets a build date, I’ve ordered a Petrol and I believe Aja has too, I’m sure they’ll be others out there. |

US model years are always different and it wouldn't surprise me if L460 wasn't launched until 6-12 months after launch in the US post announcement in the UK. |

Isn’t L460 MLA platform being produced on a new line at Solihull? Therefore is it possible they could fulfil existing L405 orders alongside L460 production startup for MY22. |

It wouldn’t make sense to commit to producing large quantities of components for a car that a small number of customers will want, or running parallel production lines. Think cars and consumer electronics, most people will want the latest. I know LR ran parallel lines with Classic and the P38 but I doubt they’ll repeat that with the L405 and 460. |

As the last information I was given turned out to be incorrect, I chose not to share this update until others had been told the same. As AnotherMutley says, this is exactly what I was told by my supplying dealer last Thursday, following a response they had received from the factory. The 22MY will be an L405 and my order as placed for a 5.0 SC AB will be what I receive, although I still haven't been given a delivery date yet either. To be honest, I'm quite happy to be receiving what I ordered. There's always a significant element of risk ordering a new car from a configurator. For me personally, to know I've got things right, I like to see all of the different wheels and colours, interior colour ways etc in the flesh before ordering - There's nothing worse than spending circa £100k only to find yourself 6 months down the line saying, "I wish I'd actually gone for that colour and those wheels", just to be one of the first to take delivery. That's not to say I might not change it in a year or two...... But I may also run this tried and tested 5.0 Autobiography for the next 15 years, as I continue to do with my 4.4 V8 Vogue petrol - We'll see. |

Still no news on my build slot at the moment, I understand some of LR production has been impacted by the global semiconductor shortage...however Solihull was kept open recently while other factories shutdown. 2021 L405 Vogue D300

I expect the chip shortages could be pushing back the date on the L460 2021 L405 Vogue D300

When I collected my car, I was told that Solihull had cut back production from 1800pw to 1000 since April.

On the Canadian LR website the 2022 FFRR can be ordered, there is a price difference of 7000C$ between the 2021 and 2022 models, must be some new options? No more P400e though...
