So it's the final day on this tomorrow I'm lucky John is so fussy with his work erm I mean good as it's been a proper full on job. He has rebuilt a fair few of these and done plenty of timing chain and guides.

The sump comes off tomorrow for a clean out along with the strainer he is going to inspect the oil pump as the bolts come loose on these and then final assembly new oil and filter and run it up.

The weather hasn't helped and has held him up remember he is doing all this on my driveway as he didnt want me risking killing the engine driving it to his.

I will do a short video on 1st start up and post the link, it will be nice to get back behind the wheel on Saturday and take it for a spin.
Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Well were pretty much there the bad weather has held my guy up he was gonna finish it yesturday/today but the down pours have just been to bad. Plan is to do the final assembly fill with cooland and oil tomorrow and start it up.
He is under strict instructions mot todo that until I'm here so I can video 1st start up and post on the tube.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

For those that have sent me a PM expressing interest I'm happy to give this guys number out privately but he doesn't want it on a public forum. He has also just completed a high pressure fuel pump replacement on a discovery 3 at a very sensible price compared to quotes the owner of that car was getting. I happen to be in ear shot when the guy called and confirmed a 200 mile trip with tin tent in tow was faultless.

Another update but nothing to report. The bad weather continued and my guy had to put my car on hold to catch up with his work load which is not a problem as I'm getting mates rates and he is doing all this on my driveway.

Once he has caught up he will be back to finish off, meanwhile I'm going to run around in my p38 that's been stored for a bit to give the old girls legs a stretch .

It went for mot this afternoon and passed with zero faults, happy days.
