I'm looking at upgrading the washer jets. I'm fed up of having to adjust the nozzle, I just cant get it right. It seems you can adjust it for slow speed or motorway. But you cant have both!

Does anyone know what car if any has Heated jets and Fan spray?

I thought Volvo, but it seems they do either-or, not both?

Thoughts?

Dan RRS with cold climate pack (standard on HSE versions) has heated nozzles but not sure about the fan shaped spray, you may find HSE spec D3/D4 and Freelander2 also have them 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I think the rear washer on the Discovery 3 is a fan spray, I'd have to try one to double check but I too have had the same thought in the past.

My wife 56 plate BMW 330D has the fan spray and they MUST be heated, in fact, during the cold snap in January, hers did not freeze up and mine did on both the Range Rovers I had at the time did. It makes much more sense than the common jet, where 30% of the water bounces off at speed and hits the car behind. Discovery 4 HSE

Can you find out if your wifes BM does have them? If so then I'll try and get those ones and have a hack and slash to try and get them in... I'll report back then.

I want to re-visit this idea. Now the winscreen is getting bug splattered again, it would be so nice to have fan spray jets.

heated nozzles - Porsche were doing them over 20 years ago

before long the new generation of 'nano' paints will mean that scratches were a thing of the past

a friend flies the F22 Raptor for the USAF - all nano coatings - most commercial airlines are applying nano coatings as a fuel saving measure

Range Rover's have had heated Washers and Door locks (dropped now) since the early 80's. But it's specifically the fan spray I want.

With only two jets you can either spray the top of the windscreen or the bottom - which means a section is always missed. The only way the bottom section of my screen gets washed is if I drive at 70mph.

my car has no problems - but treat the screen as suggested and i think you will appreciate the improvement?

my washer jet has two 'sprays' per 'head' - one low one high

Dan I'm with you on this. I know I had similar problems with my old VX220 as the rake and roundness of the screen made it a nightmare. Have you thought about a spray bar instead of jets? I know citreon and TVR both had them. They wouldn't be heated so not much use in winter but would be good in summer and none subzero temps. My 350Z has a triple jet that was wiper mounted. That worked well. Food for thought?

The spray bar is OK on cars where the wipers are concealed under the bonnet with a low scuttle pannel, but on the RR they are very exposed so I can't think this would look good.

In my first post, I say I want a fan washer jet and also in the title? But cant find ones that are heated. Ideally I wanted fan spray AND heated.

I have two jets per nozzle - but they are jets rather than a fan spray. They hit the middle of the windscreen at 70MPH then they shoot over the roof at 30mph. If they hit the middle of the screen at 30 then at 70 they hit under the wipers.

I've tried having one up one down - this always results in a dry patch on the screen which is where the bug always splats!
