I'm looking at upgrading the washer jets. I'm fed up of having to adjust the nozzle, I just cant get it right. It seems you can adjust it for slow speed or motorway. But you cant have both!

I think the rear washer on the Discovery 3 is a fan spray, I'd have to try one to double check but I too have had the same thought in the past.

Can you find out if your wifes BM does have them? If so then I'll try and get those ones and have a hack and slash to try and get them in... I'll report back then. |

As yours is a 2003 RR Dan you may find you don't have too much hacking to do - BMW had only just handed Land Rover to Ford in 2003 after they developed L322 to be ready to launch, lots of parts from the original L322's came from the BMW parts stores! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

I want to re-visit this idea. Now the winscreen is getting bug splattered again, it would be so nice to have fan spray jets. |

Range Rover's have had heated Washers and Door locks (dropped now) since the early 80's. But it's specifically the fan spray I want.

you asked about heated jets my car has no problems - but treat the screen as suggested and i think you will appreciate the improvement? my washer jet has two 'sprays' per 'head' - one low one high Last edited by nick h on 10th Apr 2011 12:22pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Dan I'm with you on this. I know I had similar problems with my old VX220 as the rake and roundness of the screen made it a nightmare. Have you thought about a spray bar instead of jets? I know citreon and TVR both had them. They wouldn't be heated so not much use in winter but would be good in summer and none subzero temps. My 350Z has a triple jet that was wiper mounted. That worked well. Food for thought? |

The spray bar is OK on cars where the wipers are concealed under the bonnet with a low scuttle pannel, but on the RR they are very exposed so I can't think this would look good. This is what I want: |

first post? tim and RRUK must have also read the same post? your washer 'heads' - only have one spray each? - sorry for the confusion as i said mine have two sprays each - two at 'high' level' and two at 'low level' - never had a problem do RR produce a diagram of 'settings' for each? jeep had a diagram showing dimensions for each nozzle when the vehicle was parked? |

In my first post, I say I want a fan washer jet and also in the title? But cant find ones that are heated. Ideally I wanted fan spray AND heated. I have two jets per nozzle - but they are jets rather than a fan spray. They hit the middle of the windscreen at 70MPH then they shoot over the roof at 30mph. If they hit the middle of the screen at 30 then at 70 they hit under the wipers. I've tried having one up one down - this always results in a dry patch on the screen which is where the bug always splats! |

Have a look here http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=851 that's got a few good pics of the citroën spray bar. Doesn't look to bad and looks quite functional. |
