The rear seats don't have cooling, it's only the fronts that do. The knobs are to control the temp and fan speed for the rear A/c, which can be switched on and off by the switch on the front centre console |

Thanks and accept the explanation but don't understand why LR use the same hot(red)/cold(blue) controller as for the front seats if the cold function isn't available - most confusing for the casual user of the controls. |

I'm confused. I don't think heating/cooling was available in MY07 in the rear. In my MY11.5 an option I had was rear seat recline which included heating and cooling. The controls for this are on the rear doors and has the control you describe - 3 stage, anticlockwise (blue) for cooling and clockwise for heating (red). The heat/cool controls are identical to those found in the front. The central push button adjusts whether you want the ventilation on back, seat bottom or both (not fan speed). This is done via the 3 stages. |

Ah, gotcha! Me being a bit thick here. So LR use the same control in the rear as they do in the front but it has a different function in the rear. Simples |
