Random Alarm Sounding

2012 4.4 TDV8

For some time now, the alarm will randomly sound. My research pointed me to the bonnet sensor switch which I changed some months ago (genuine Land Rover part fitted), the fault still persists... Last time it was in for a Service (about 3 weeks ago), I asked the specialist to investigate... aparantly, their code reader will indicate the last few alarm triggers, they were...: N/S/R Door x 2, O/S/F Door x 1 O/S/R Door x 1...
Can anyone shed any light on either / or bypassing the sensors, muffling the alarm sounder or disarming the alarm altogether please...
I’m seriously Censored off the neibours and my lovely Range Rover is getting a bad reputation.. Sad

Mine used to go off randomly.... as it sat in the heat and the bonnet switch triggered as the metal moved. I bent the bracket up a bit and put a rubber grommet on the end of the plunger to make it effectively longer. No issues since.

I can’t help if it’s your door locks.... strange one. I wouldn’t have thought they would all become faulty at the same time....

Perhaps they are old codes? Perhaps clear and see if they come back?

Not a nice thought but, could anyone be trying to tamper with the car? There's a big issue with theft at the moment sir...

Try setting the alarm with the internal sensor switched off and see what happens.

Mine went off a few times (also a 2012 4.4 TDV8) when I first got her around two and a half years ago, when it rained heavily. OK since then though. I had a Jag XK8 about 4-years ago and the alarm would go off every time it rained heavily or was very windy - until someone suggested closing all the air-vents on the dash, to stop the wind affecting the air pressure inside the car, and setting of said alarm. That silly thing worked, though probably the air pressure thing doesn't relate to the TDV8?!? Have I seen that low battery can set alarm off also?

Just from my side; my FFRR was doing this last week.
From my D3 back home in Africa, I had a similar problem.
I think it's flies/insects/spiders that are inside and they move around at night with the street lamps etc. and set off the alarm.
As suggested, disabling the internal sensors, if you can, or if not just blast the inside with Doom/Raid or other insectide and see what happens?

Thanks for your input so far... it looks like I’m the only person suffering with this problem... however, the battery is nearly new, there is nobody tampering with the cars and I’ve changed the bonnet switch (OE part).

How do I isolate the interior sensor..?

Cheers,
Mark

Don’t double lock the car... ie only press the lock button once on the remote fob to lock, not twice.

I had a random alarm sounding on mine, again suspected bonnet switch so removed and taped over, still sounded usually around 8 at night.
The code reader said a few things but latest was rear left door. I had oiled locks a couple of weeks before. I took door card off and sprayed WD 40 into lock and plugs from inside and out and opened and closed and locked doors a number of times. Never went off again.
Worth checking the latest code as the codes are time stamped.

Now we’re talking... Just perhaps dirty terminals... Mine goes off randomly, but like your’s, early evening is the most common time, although it can get later into the night... very occasionally during the day, but not often..
