Hello all

I am wondering if last night's rain has found its way into the stereo module/ECU, can someone please point me in its direction as I want to spray some WD-40 into the connections!!

This morning the speakers will not turn off, they crackle, fizz, hiss and make all sorts of crazy noises, with the power on & off. In fact the car is switched off now and the noise is continuing.......any ideas?

Could be the Audio Amp is playing up, as a starting point, try pulling the fuse Link for the amp leave it out for 3 mins or so and re-install its FL16 on mine (The 40A in the photo) Its in the Load space offside.

I have found the problem....the void under the passenger seat (where the amps are) is FULL of water! DAMN IT!!!!

Dont even know where to start with this one. Isn't is something to do with the sunroof drains?

First things first I need to prevent/limit further water ingress.

Not sure about the L405, but another source of water ingress could be the air intake for the blower, if similar to an L322, these drains could be blocked and letting water enter the air intake. The water could easily travel under the carpet 'through' any insulation.

If like an L322, there will be 4 drain hoses from the sunroof, one at each corner, try these one at a time, as ever, Powerful UK has a video of them testing their drain hoses, just a thought, hope this helps.

Hi all, an update.

I have booked the car in to a garage who will investigate and hopefully correct the problem. I am thinking sunroom drains.
From the tech image in the manual it looks like there are 2 on the L405 and they empty near the C pillar/rear wheel arch. I looked but couldn't find the ends.

I must have wrung a pint of water out of a microfibre cloth I have been using to soak up the water, but as soon as I put the cloth back it saturates again so there must be a reservoir under the seat!

Anyway, thanks for the responses and I will keep you posted.

The near side metal join between the rubber drain tube and the opening in the sunroof gutter was completely corroded/missing! The off side has been checked and is ok.

So a fix is underway, the carpets, insulation etc is being dried out and I am hoping there is no long term damage to electrical modules etc.

All fixed, car now dry but all electronics under the seat will need replacing. No bluetooth, no stereo, no satnav etc

Can anybody explain to me (or post a linnk) how to reach this "void under the passenger seat (where the amps are)"?
I wanted to reset the amp because there is no more sound (as described by others). I pulled the fuse FL16. This one is blown, so I suspect some more damage and like to inspect the void under the passenger seat.
