A Trap

Police here yesterday (Easter Sunday) stopped every car, body searched occupancy, searched their cars then arrested them, taking them off in a van and compounding their cars. There was no reason to be out as everything was closed, the Spainish gov. warned everyone. Those arrested face massive fines and costs to recover their cars... they don’t mess around here.

Fair play if you were warned.

Seems a bit harsh as many are back to work tomorrow though.....

A Trap

Build and manufacturing returned to work today in Spain they have last Thursday and Friday off and not this Monday 👍

Harsh, yes, but some don’t get it or care, if you were out it was probably to go to a family meal/get-to-gether.

Police here seem polite and fair but don’t take prisoners.... no pun intended 😂

Chart Update 19/04/2020

Things have changed around a bit with the USA really suffering (and me thinks with a long way to go)
Europe with smaller countries and large populations still showing in the pop and km2 charts

A Trap

I see the UK has (in Trumps words) ‘one of the best’ death rates in the world which still climbs at a level pace with a quickly growing infection/hospitalization rate of the under 50’s.

Mask wearing mandated in shops and public transport from this Friday.... what is the reason for nearly two weeks notice??

Boris admitted yesterday has not read the action report to avoid a second wave in October, why??

I’m not in the U.K. at the moment, but thought face covering on public transport had been in place for a while.

Shops are new and I guess you need a little lead time for people to go to the shops and buy a mask - not everyone is an internet shopper.

U.K. death rate is clearly high and up there at the top of the euro league, but it will be a while before we get the full picture, comparing excess deaths over a period rather than just relying on a somewhat random definition.

At least most of Europe seems to be on the decline for the moment, unlike the Americas Shocked

Was booked to go to France on 4th September. My boss is OK with me working from home for 2 weeks when I get back but, if France decide to impose quarantine restrictions on people from the UK, then that's that scuppered.

thats the worrying bit, you can isolate when you come back [if practical] but if you cant get through the tunnel then thats a bigger problem.. ... - .- -.

France

I feel for you guys.
My bro’ and his wife have a ferry booked for the 6th September to come and visit us (with a supply of hard-to-find-over-here goodies). They would probably still come despite the probability of having to quarantine on their return as they are retired so no work problems, but there is now the threat of tit-for-tat measures being imposed by the French Government. That could mean that they arrive in France and have to isolate for however long the French decide on, then another 14 days on their return ...
It’s all getting very silly.

I feel sorry for all those people already on holiday in France. Very short notice of the quarantine and now they have to try and get back before 04:00 Hrs Saturday.

Apparently if you are very wealthy or a Politician or from MSM or are a CEO from any big corps or orgs you can't catch the so-called virus... These people have been regularly jetting off to the sun since the beginning of the (state) controlled lockdowns, so they must be immune, somehow. Many do not have to self isolate also - so wealth clearly gives more immunity?!?
Plus I guess peeps have checked the MHRA from a statistical point of view?
You have to ask these things...
The global death/mortality rates over the past 20-years also are interesting to behold considering what has happened in the last year or so... 2005 and 2010 '''outbreaks''' were way over any rates we have had or experienced this past year or so... and these are not my figures - they are out there, but well hidden.
Wonder what happened to Piers Morgan?

Holy thread resurrection Shocked

I'm also a little confused as to the point.....

Rich people are travelling - yep life isn't a level playing field. We had to pay >£300 each in tests just to return to the UK from France at Easter.
The death rate isn't very high vs 2005 or 2010 - not sure of the point there ?
Piers Morgan ? The mind boggles

Kind of interesting to be reminded how we were thinking in the early days of COVID though Thumbs Up
