Factory tints or not?

Finally got my FF RR. 2010 Nara Bronze with espresso leather autobio.

It's got tints in the back. I assumed they were factory fit. I noticed the back passenger window tint has a few scratches and a hole where it's peeled.

I had read the factory tints were in the glass so can it scratch and peel?

Id rather take them off. But look at the other windows I can see where I'd start, no edges nothing. So are they factory and stay or add on and removable?

Easy way to tell is to look at the rear boot quarter windows. If you can see the copper colour wires on the glass then it will be aftermarket tints. Factory ones aren't filmed, the glass itself is tinted. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I'm pretty it is filmed as there's a few nicks in the rear windows. I can't see any edges at all though. Why they have had the glass out to film it? I don't want to start pulling it if I can't get it all off

Sometimes, you just have to be brave.....

As above, if you have bits that are peeling it will be a film, and some fitters are better than others.

There a few videos around to help remove the tint film, best seem to involve heat and / or steam. Which ever method you use, it looks like a long job.
Or try and see how much a tint film installer will charge as they must be used to removing it as well as installing the damn stuff. Censored

If you do decide to remove them take it very slowly and use lots of steam on the side windows with antenna on, and the rear heated screen. When I decided to remove mine from the TD6 I had loads of the silver strip peel away with the film even though I took my time and steamed them well. Regretted doing it afterwards! 😔 2012 Westminster TDV8 4.4 Indus Silver
