Sounds like the fuel tank breather is blocked, there is a hose and probably some sort of vent valve - air/fuel separator, probably something wrong there. Obviously the air is not escaping as you fill the tank.

This is not normal - there is supposed to be an "anti-spit back" flap at the tank end of the filler hose (its possible this may be stuck) and the breather pipe doesn't seem to have any valve that could cause this.

In my previous post, the info stated on the site was incorrect, but this below is for a 2016 TDV6, so I imagine it is the same as yours, it does mention a spit back spring loaded flap.but as it is under warranty, it doesn't matter as it will be down to the dealer.
